The browser enforces this: the site’s security policy only lets the page talk to the code libraries’ servers and an anonymous usage counter (tool name, file type, size range). A request carrying your file to anywhere else would be blocked before it left.
Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and run the tool. Or turn off Wi-Fi once the tool has loaded; it keeps working.
How it works
Add a text or logo watermark and see it on the real page as you type. Tile it, drag it into place, or lock it in.
Your page is shown with the watermark drawn on it live, so what you see is exactly what gets saved. Type any text or pick a preset (Confidential, Draft, Copy, Sample, Do not copy, Paid), add today's date if you like, then choose the colour, font, size, angle and opacity. Or use a logo: PNGs with transparency look best. Place it once (pick a corner or the centre, or simply drag it on the page) or tile it across the whole page in a staggered pattern, which is much harder to crop or cover and is a good idea for ID copies you send to banks, landlords or employers. Behind the content keeps the document's text fully readable. Apply it to every page, the first page only, all but the first, or pages you list. Normally the watermark is added as a layer on top and the text stays selectable; turn on Lock it in to save each page as a single image with the watermark painted in, so it can't simply be deleted in a PDF editor. Text in scripts that PDF's built-in fonts can't spell is added as a picture of the text. Everything runs in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib; your file is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF. The first page appears with a sample watermark on it.
- Write or choose the watermark. Type text, pick a preset, or add a logo.
- Style and place it. Set colour, size, angle and opacity; drag it or tile it across the page.
- Pick pages and save. Choose the pages, optionally lock it in, and press Watermark.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I add a watermark to a PDF?
- Drop the PDF, type your watermark text or choose a logo, adjust how it looks on the preview, and press Watermark. The preview is exactly what gets saved.
- Can the watermark be removed?
- A normal watermark is a separate layer, so someone with a PDF editor could delete it. Turn on Lock it in and every page is saved as a single image with the watermark painted in, so it can't be lifted out.
- How do I watermark an ID copy safely?
- Use Tiled across page with text like "For KYC at Bank X only" and today's date, and turn on Lock it in. A repeating, dated, purpose-specific mark makes a leaked copy far less useful.
- Can I use my logo as a watermark?
- Yes. Choose Logo or image and pick a PNG or JPG; transparent PNGs look best. Set its size and opacity, then place it or tile it.
- Is my PDF uploaded?
- No. The watermark is added in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
