## How it works

Drop a photo and the background is removed straight away by a segmentation model (U²-Net) running in your browser with WebAssembly. The first time, the model downloads once (about 50 MB) and is then cached, so later photos start instantly and even work offline. Drag the line across the preview to compare the original with the cut-out. If the model missed something, switch to Erase and paint over what should go, or Restore and paint back parts of the subject that were cut away; Undo steps back. Then choose the background: None for a transparent PNG (logos, stickers, designs), White for product listings and ID photos, any colour from the swatches or the picker, or Blur for a portrait-mode look that keeps the scene but softens it. Crop to subject trims the empty space around the cut-out. Transparent results save as PNG; new backgrounds save as JPG, at the photo's full resolution.

## How to use it

1. **Drop a photo.** The background is removed automatically on your device.
2. **Check and touch up.** Drag the compare line; use Erase or Restore to fix any edges.
3. **Choose a background.** Transparent, white, any colour, or a blur of the original. Crop to the subject if you like.
4. **Save.** Download a transparent PNG or a JPG with the new background, at full resolution.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it really free with no watermark?

Yes. Full resolution, no watermark, no account. It runs on your device, so there's no server cost to pass on.

### Is my photo uploaded?

No. The model runs in your browser; your photo never leaves your device. The network log on the page shows every request, and none contain your image.

### Can I fix bits the tool got wrong?

Yes. Use Erase to paint away leftover background and Restore to bring back hair, hands or edges that were cut off. Undo reverses each stroke.

### Can I put a white or coloured background behind the subject?

Yes. Pick White, any colour, or Blur (a softened copy of the original scene). Those save as JPG; None saves a transparent PNG.

### Why is the first run slow?

The cut-out model (about 50 MB) downloads the first time. After that it's cached in your browser and starts in a second or two.
