# Find the password of an Aadhaar, PAN or bank PDF

> Indian documents come locked with passwords made from your own details. Pick the document, type those details, and the password is found and tried for you, on your device.

Open the tool: https://yourbrowsercandoit.com/pdf-password-finder

Open Aadhaar, e-PAN, AIS, CAS and bank statement PDFs from your own details. Free, no signup. Runs entirely in your browser; files are never uploaded.

## How it works

e-Aadhaar, e-PAN, AIS, Form 26AS, demat and mutual fund statements, and bank and credit card statements all arrive as password-protected PDFs, and each issuer builds the password differently: first four letters of your name in capitals and your birth year for Aadhaar, your date of birth for e-PAN, your PAN in lowercase with your date of birth for AIS, your PAN in capitals for an NSDL or CDSL statement. This tool knows 25 of these rules, each checked against the issuer's own page where one exists and marked when it is only reported by users. Drop the PDF and it guesses the document from the file name; type the few details its rule uses and every likely password is tried as you type, including the variants where sources disagree on capitals or date order. When it opens, you see the password, so you can open the next statement yourself, and you can save a copy without a password. It only works with your own details: nothing is guessed at random, and nothing leaves your device.

## How to use it

1. **Drop the locked PDF.** The document type is guessed from the file name; change it if needed.
2. **Type your details.** Only what that document's rule uses, such as your name and year of birth.
3. **It opens.** The likely passwords are tried as you type, and the right one is shown.
4. **Save a copy.** Download it without a password, or keep the password for next time.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the password of an e-Aadhaar PDF?

The first four letters of your name as printed on the Aadhaar, in capitals, followed by your year of birth. For example, Suresh Kumar born in 1989 has SURE1989. Spaces are skipped, so SAI KUMAR becomes SAIK.

### What is the password of the e-PAN PDF?

Your date of birth as DDMMYYYY with no slashes, such as 07031992. Companies and firms use the date of incorporation.

### What is the password of the AIS PDF?

Your PAN in lowercase followed by your date of birth as DDMMYYYY, for example abcpr1234k07031992.

### What if none of the passwords work?

Check that your details match the document exactly, such as the name as printed on it. For statements where the format isn't official, choose “Not sure: try every format”, or check the email the statement came with.

### Can it open a PDF whose password I don't know at all?

No. It only tries the passwords issuers build from your own details. It doesn't crack or guess random passwords.

### Are my PDF and details uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and every password is tried in your browser, on your device. Your name, date of birth and PAN are never sent anywhere or saved.
