## How it works

A two-pane Markdown editor that renders as you type. Supports the common Markdown subset: headings (#, ##, ###), bullets (- or *), numbered lists, inline code (`), code blocks with optional language tag (```), bold (**), italic (*), blockquotes (>), horizontal rules (---), and links ([text](url)). Tables, footnotes, and Markdown extensions like task lists are not supported (this is a quick editor, not a full CommonMark parser). Two download buttons: .md gives you the raw source, .html gives you a self-contained styled HTML file with print-friendly defaults (system font, neat code blocks, blockquote styling). Useful for drafting README files, writing a quick blog post, or converting Markdown to shareable HTML without a CMS.

## How to use it

1. **Write your Markdown.** Headings, lists, code blocks, bold, italic, blockquotes, and links all render as you type.
2. **Check the live preview.** The right pane shows the rendered HTML instantly.
3. **Download.** Grab the raw .md, or a self-contained styled .html with print-friendly defaults.

## Frequently asked questions

### What Markdown flavor does this support?

Common subset: headings, lists, inline / block code, bold, italic, blockquotes, hr, links. Tables, footnotes, and task lists are not supported.

### Can I download the rendered HTML?

Yes. The Download .html button produces a self-contained HTML file with simple, print-friendly styles.

### Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

### Are links sanitized?

Links are rendered with rel="noopener noreferrer" and href attributes. HTML in the source is escaped, so raw <script> tags don't execute.
