# JSON to CSV

> Paste JSON and see it as a table straight away. Nested fields become columns, and the CSV opens cleanly in Excel.

Turn JSON into a CSV table, nested fields and all. Free, no signup. Runs entirely in your browser; files are never uploaded.

## How it works

Paste JSON or drop a .json file, and it appears as a table as you type. The tool finds the list of records for you, even when it sits inside a wrapper such as {"data": [...]} or {"results": {"items": [...]}}; if there are several lists, pick the one you want. Nested objects become their own columns (customer.name, customer.city), lists of values are joined with semicolons, and anything more complex is kept as JSON in its cell. Records with different fields are merged into one set of columns, in the order they first appear. Click a column to leave it out. Choose comma, semicolon (for Excel in many European locales) or tab, and keep Excel-friendly on so accents and other scripts open correctly. Numbers are copied exactly as written, so long IDs and amounts like 1197.50 are not rounded. Small mistakes such as trailing commas are read past; anything else is pointed out and can be fixed in the JSON formatter. Everything runs in your browser; your data is never uploaded.

## How to use it

1. **Paste or drop your JSON.** It shows up as a table as you type.
2. **Choose rows and columns.** Pick which list to use and leave out columns you don’t need.
3. **Copy or download.** Save the CSV, ready for Excel or Google Sheets.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I convert JSON to CSV?

Paste the JSON or drop the file. Check the table preview, then Copy or Download the CSV.

### What happens to nested objects?

With Flatten nested on, they become columns such as customer.name. Lists of values are joined with semicolons. Turn it off to keep nested data as JSON in a single cell.

### My JSON has the list inside another object. Will it work?

Yes. The tool finds lists of records anywhere near the top, such as data, results or items, and lets you choose if there are several.

### Why do accents look wrong when I open the CSV in Excel?

Excel needs a marker at the start of the file to read UTF-8. Keep Excel-friendly on and it is added for you.

### Is my data uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser.
